Samurai Knitters

July 10th, 2009 by Ivy

In this episode I talk about the history of knitting in Japan, particularly as it applies to the samurai class as they lost power in the transition between the Tokugawa and Meiji eras.

The Unique Sheep has a new club–stitch and sip.

I talked about my summer reading, in particular Stupid American History
and Terminator Salvation: The Official Movie Novelization.  I’m listening to Heaven.  If you haven’t given that a listen yet, do, it’s quite good.

The prayer request this week is for Kimi.  You can find details in audio here or in print here.   Tale Chasing is her podcast about reading and writing Urban Fantasy.  Her podiobook is Guardians.

This is the baby blanket I’ve finished.
